In 2026, Spielbank Bremen once again proudly sponsored a cycling team at the SIXDAYS.

Just in time for the kick-off on January 9th, Spielbank Bremen sent its team into the race. Mr. and Mrs. Schneider, along with Ms. Fugger, personally welcomed the riders and wished them every success for the coming days. The official starting signal was given this year by Werder coach "Fritzy" Kromp and pop star Peter Wackel.

Our Team

Donavan Grondin (France, 25 years old)
With Donavan Grondin, one of the most successful track cyclists in the world competed for us. The two-time world champion, European champion, and Olympic bronze medalist competed in his second race on the Weser.

Thibaut Bernard (Belgium, 23 years old)
As a dedicated teammate, Thibaut Bernard stepped in for Philip Heijnen (NL) on short notice. The young Belgian is an active and versatile cyclist on both the track and the road.

As in the previous year, it remained exciting until the very last lap. Our team showed great fighting spirit and secured a strong fourth place in the end. We are already looking forward to 2027 with optimism – as the saying goes in Bremen: Third time's a charm!

Despite partly adverse weather conditions during the event days, the ÖVB Arena was well-attended, and the atmosphere was exuberant.
