What could be better than marrying the fairest maiden in all the land? All joking aside, Spielbank Bremen and the SV Werder Bremen football club have had a special connection for many years now – sometimes more, sometimes less intense. Spielbank Bremen received a warm welcome with its ideas for presenting the company, and the way in which our visions were brought to life here with professional support was simply unique. Certainly no surprise with a sporting heavyweight like SV Werder Bremen, but the cooperation was still always as equals and a great deal of fun.
As a regional partner, we get to rub shoulders with a wide range of other partners and officials of the club and do our utmost to utilize the enriching discussions for our business. Even though our involvement may be focused on the centre of the Weserstadion stadium at the men’s Bundesliga home matches, we would remiss not to emphasise the club’s diversity.
With its great club life, SV Werder Bremen has a wide range of other sporting highlights in store, for example the women’s handball team and the chess team. “Keep up the good work!” seems almost a little unnecessary here, but for us it is a joyful indication of a long-term cooperation.
Our motto “Strong sporting partners” originated with our cooperation with the Bremer Hockey Club (BHC). We have been supporting the BHC’s women’s 1st hockey team in competitive sports since 2018. The team became interesting from a sporting perspective when promoted to the indoor and field hockey Bundesliga, and an intense dialogue about the club’s wide-ranging activities blossomed in parallel.
The BHC is a club steeped in tradition and now offers Parkinson’s disease exercise therapy and cardiac rehabilitation training in its own “redbox” fitness centre. The “Kids in Motion” courses, the cooperation with Oberneuland Primary School in the form of an open after-school club and, most recently, the supervision and support of young athletes at the first sports boarding school are surely without parallel. The partnership is rounded off by mutual visits, with the BHC members receiving invitations to the casino and casino representatives attending the BHC’s sponsor evenings.
TV Eiche Horn’s women’s 1st volleyball team also became one of our first cooperation partners in 2018 and has secured a steady place for itself in the third league. And the ladies put in a great deal of hard work: the team itself is fully responsible for the intensive training, a well-balanced preparation programme, the acquisition of sponsors, the organisation of the long journeys for away games and the specifics of home match days.
Likely impossible to manage any other way in a large club like TV Eiche Horn, this initiative demands not only the highest sporting standards but also the utmost respect – respect that we are only too happy to support. There is no doubt that this is a great place to visit if you enjoy thrilling volleyball home games at professional level.
As Spielbank Bremen, we have been visible on the jerseys of Handball Club Bremen since the 2020/21 season, and our logo shines in all its splendour when a player makes a full-stretch jump to score. Fourth division handball in the Oberliga Nordsee league is demanding, and the level of commitment cannot be praised highly enough. A lively club life with a Bundesliga substructure in the youth sector ensures a loud, sporty and exhilarating atmosphere on home game evenings in the neighbourhood of Hastedt, close to the Weserstadion.
The first contact with the club management was an agreeable exchange of wishes and goals, which quickly developed into a sustainable partnership. We are delighted to offer our support and it is always a pleasure to be recognised immediately when we attend the games in the sports hall.
SV ATLAS Delmenhorst was a leading football club back in its heyday. It was then removed from the clubs register and ultimately refounded. Not Bremen, but the first urban community in the vicinity – the ideal chance to showcase a cooperation with the casino in Bremen’s commuter belt.
We seized this opportunity in 2018 and immediately realised in the friendly discussions that the team had its sights set on sporting success and wasn’t afraid to put in the hard work. The town of Delmenhorst has always been an industrial hub full of hard workers. They achieved their goal of making it to the fourth league in just a few years. The club with its men’s 1st football team is now back in the upper league and looks likely to be promoted again and stay in the regional league for a long time to come.
However, just as worthy of mention as its sporting journey are its other activities. The SVA was a co-initiator of the youth development organisation for young footballers in Delmenhorst. Alongside the time-honoured stadium where the home games are held, the unique matchday programme is a highlight. With its wide range of sponsors, the club is at almost professional level where sponsoring and marketing are concerned. This support is nurtured by a unique atmosphere of conviviality off the pitch and the close relationships between the board, the team, the fans and the sponsors.
As a strong sporting partner, a large club like OSC Bremerhaven is really an obvious choice for Casino Bremerhaven. However, both sides needed a little time to get to know each other. Based on the motto “Anyone can play football”, the aim was to find a symbiosis with two of the club’s attractive offerings at the same time. The intensive dialogue and harmonious interpersonal aspect of our discussions were a great help in this regard. The result was equal support for the American football team and men’s 1st football team.
Both play their home games at the awesome Nordseestadion: an ideal place to draw attention to Casino Bremerhaven. While the American football players were already in the regional league, this ambitious goal was achieved by the football players at the end of the 2022/23 season. Despite a valiant attempt, close and unfortunate relegation meant back to the Bremen-Liga in 2023/24. Hold your heads high, lads – the next opportunity is just around the corner. We are convinced that we can support the OSC in achieving these goals as an outstanding partner.
This isn’t the first time we have cooperated with the Fischtown Pinguins from Bremerhaven. They are certainly one if not the sporting name in Bremerhaven, and we are delighted to be working together again.
The team in the ice hockey Bundesliga has surprised in recent years with first-rate performances and great successes. Our clip on the video screens in the ice rink makes us a part of the ice hockey family far beyond Bremenhaven’s city limits. It is with great pride that we welcome the opportunity to communicate as partners in the world of professional sport.
